UFC 290 went down in Las Vegas with one of the best cards of the year that was packed with incredible fights and even bigger controversy. Here are the top 5 talking points: 

Dricus Du Plessis produced the best performance of his career to date with a highly impressive TKO vs former champion Robert Whittaker. A title fight against UFC Middleweight king Israel Adesanya now looks certain, with Izzy entering The Octagon after the fight for an extremely heated faceoff with the South African. The champ did not hold back with his words, which only poured fuel on the fire of their already bitter relationship.

In the main event, Alexander Volkanovski remained dominant at 145 lbs after a dominant performance against Yair Rodriguez. Dana White confirmed it was up to the Aussie what he wants to do next, with a rematch for the UFC Lightweight title vs Islam Makhachev top of his list, while also recognizing the challenge at Featherweight from Spain's Ilia Topuria. 

Elsewhere, the co-main event between Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja was a fight-of-the-year contender, with the Brazilian Pantoja getting the split decision from the judges after a 5-round war.

Dan Hooker and Jalin Turner also had an epic battle of their own, with 'The Hangman' coming out on top - even with a broken arm! 

While legend 'Ruthless' Robbie Lawler retired in style with a 38-second knockout.
